Our team of instructors have years of experience and are passionate about our friendly, welcoming club. Let’s meet them:
Chief instructor and founder of Cardiff Martial Arts - Mr McCabe began his martial arts journey in 1991. Over the years, he's earned 2 European Championship Gold Medals and won the World Championships three times, 2014, 2016 and 2018.
Outside of Taekwon-do and Kickboxing, Mr McCabe studied Astrophysics at Cardiff University and likes to use holistic coaching in his classes, encouraging students to understand the principles behind techniques they use.
Mr Draper is a typical CMA person - he started training when his children first got involved, and he never would have imagined the journey on which he would have gone.
He now runs classes in Lisvane Primary School, has become an international referee working at 2 World Championships not to mention his personal competitive record representing the UK at the European Championships in 2015 and World Championships in 2016.
Above all, Mr Draper is passionate about people simply coming to join in; his classes are family focussed with many people of the same family training together.
Like many people in Cardiff Martial Arts, Miss Moore began training with friends. She progressed in her Kickboxing and went on to achieve 2nd degree black belt. She then took on Taekwon-do training as well, and trains now with her daughter.
Her classes in Meadowlane Primary School and Channel View Centre are very popular, because she is an energetic and encouraging instructor.
Mr Peake has over 10 years experience and runs classes in Cathays and Llandaff North.
His background in Personal Training means that he applies knowledge of movement and strength to his coaching methods, always looking to pass on his passion to his students.
He has represented the UK at European Championships in 2015 and World Championships 2018.
